Holiday Bazaar and Swedish Pancakes!   
    
When: Sunday, November 7th, 2010. (11am)
    Where: Swedish Cultural Center
    What: After an adventurous drive to the SCC, we ate some delicious pancakes and checked out the holiday bazaar.

Swedish Movie Night!

    What: We watched Man som hatar kvinnor, drank flädder saft, ate yummy pizza and halloween candy.

Diversity Fair!
   When: Tuesday: January 19, 2010. 7:30-9:00pm
   Where: Terry Hall (1101 NE Campus Parkway)
   What: The Swedish Club will be represented at the Diversity Fair in Terry Hall.   
   Who: Anyone who would like to learn about how to become a member of the Swedish Club or current members who just miss us too much.  There will be free food!!!

Study Abroad Fika
   When: Thursday: January 14, 2010. 4-6pm.
   Where: Raitt Hall, Room 314
   What: Fika! (coffee and snacks provided, but you can bring goodies if you like)
   Who: Anyone who would like to know more about studying abroad in Sweden, anyone who has already been abroad and would like to share their experiences, or anyone else generally interested in Sweden.

61st Annual Lucia Celebration!
    When: Sunday, Deecmber 13th (3-5pm)  Performers: please come at 2pm!
    Where: Swedish Cultural Center (1920 Dexter Ave. N)
    What: Come and experience one of Sweden's most celebrated holidays!  Dance & music performances, food, and fun! What more could you ask for?

Swedish Music Exchange (& possibly a movie):     
     
When: Sunday, November 22, 2009. 7-10pm
      Where: 5238 11th Ave NE
      What: Come get and share your Swedish music with your new & old Scandinavian-minded buddies! Oh, and eat free pizza, drink free soda, maybe watch a movie and more! Bring your laptops, USBs, external harddrives, Swedish movies, etc and be ready to have an amazing time!

When: October 30th, 2009. 7:30pm --> into the night.
      Where: "The Bookend" 5238 11th Ave NE (Tall skinny green house).    
      What: We will be watching episodes of 'Hipp Hipp,' which are comparable to the American 'Saturday Night Live' show, but better!  There will be free pizza, pop, cookies, candy, and more!!  Funded by the Swedish Department at the University of Washington.

Scandinavian Department Centennial Celebration      
     
When: September 25th-26th
      Where: Kane Hall: Walker Ames Room, UW Campius: Lawn between Parrington and Gates Hall, Fairmont Olympic Hotel: Spanish Ballroom
      What: Alumni Reception, Ceremonial Tree Planting, Live music, Dancing, Community exhibits and booths, and sample refreshments from local Scandinavian bakeries and businesses, Centennial Gala.  See here for more details and exact times.

60th Anniversary UW Lucia Concert
     
When: Friday, December 5th (2:30pm)
      Where: HUB 108
      
What: Södra Vätterbygdens Folkhögskola and UW Swedish Club will perform a traditional Swedish procession and concert celebrating Saint Lucia's day.  This event is free and open to the public.  Coffee and refreshments will be served following the concert.  (More Information)

Swedish Meatball Dinner & Movie Night!

What: We're having an informal Swedish meatball dinner and movie night at Sarah's apartment to kick off the quarter!  Everyone, new and old is welcome!  We'll be watching Zozo, a fantastic Swedish film about a boy who immigrates from Lebanon to Sweden.  Don't worry if you're new to Swedish, we'll have English subtitles on!  E-mail Sarah at mccons@u.washington.edu if you have any questions!
